Frontline Prayer: Maya’s Journey From Hopeless to Hope-Filled

In the Middle East, single mothers are often cast out, left without hope or a future. That was Maya’s reality. Pregnant and alone, she saw no way forward—until Jesus found her!

Maya was desperate to escape her situation and earn money for an abortion. But one day, everything changed. She met local believers through a miraculous series of events, and they welcomed her into their home! She was greeted with a smile and the words, “We expect nothing. We just want to give you rest—because God sees you and loves you!”

That night, in her new room, Maya met Jesus in the pages of a book she found on the nightstand — More Than a Carpenter. Over the next few days, she devoured the book and her new Bible. In a powerful moment of surrender, she gave her life to Jesus. Armed with this newfound faith and courage, she chose to keep her baby girl.

Against all odds, Maya is now raising her daughter—and boldly sharing the love of Jesus. Each morning, they walk miles to leave Christian books on park benches and bus stops, planting seeds of hope in a place where faith is illegal. Maya’s daughter clutches her first Bible everywhere she goes—even sleeping with it at night. Together, mother and daughter bring hope and light to the darkest places.

Maya found out this book led the family to Christ—who then opened their doors to Maya. Maya met Jesus in the pages—and is now using the book to impact her world for Christ. Because of their faithfulness, underground house churches are forming, lives are being changed, and the Gospel is multiplying in places where faith comes at a significant cost.
