{"id":27648,"date":"2016-11-15T00:10:11","date_gmt":"2016-11-15T06:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites-stage.josh.org\/main\/?p=27648"},"modified":"2023-05-16T12:00:02","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T17:00:02","slug":"a-couple-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites-stage.josh.org\/main\/a-couple-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"A Couple Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"bsf_rt_marker\"><\/div><h3>Thank you Josh\u00a0for being used by God!<\/h3>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-27640 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/sites-stage.josh.org\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/607\/2016\/07\/People-holding-each-other-by-hands-000077701313_Medium-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Couple relationship\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><br \/>\nForty-one years ago you spoke in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania on the topic&#8230;<u>Roaming through Romans<\/u>.\u00a0 It was a Campus Crusade fall conference.\u00a0 I was invited by a student from the University of Pennsylvania.\u00a0 That weekend after hearing\u00a0you share how a\u00a0person can become a Christian, I trusted Jesus as my Savior.<\/p>\n<p>A month later my girlfriend and\u00a0I attended your <u>Maximum Sex<\/u> talk at Villanova.\u00a0\u00a0We were so convicted by\u00a0the Holy Spirit that we left the field house, went straight to our car and began praying to God.\u00a0We asked him to forgive us for\u00a0being intimate before we were married and then we handed our sex life over to Him.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Judy and I began\u00a0to learn how to love one another with Jesus as our focus rather than the sexual relationship we had\u00a0for three years.<\/h4>\n<p>A year after my conversion and Judy&#8217;s recommitment to the Lord, we were married.\u00a0 We headed off to Seminary, and during my first year on campus I ran into you at the seminary library.\u00a0 I briefly told you my story&#8212;I will never forget your kindness and interest.<\/p>\n<p>After graduation my wife and I served with the Coalition for Christian Outreach ministry in Pittsburgh and then I became ordained.\u00a0 For over thirty years I have worked for renewal in my crumbling\u00a0denomination.\u00a0 Now in my sixties I am helping the church I am pastoring in Florida leave for another denomination.<\/p>\n<p>Every time I read about you or see your picture in a magazine, I smile.\u00a0\u00a0God used you in a mighty way in my young adult life.\u00a0 Thank you for allowing the Lord to work through you for so many years.\u00a0\u00a0I praise God for you and your ministry.<br \/>\nJeff<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you Josh\u00a0for being used by God!
